π Lore of the Hoard
The marsh settlement of Grimfen sits between trade routes and ancient swamplands. Travellers stopping at its taverns often arrived cold, wet, and exhausted. To satisfy hungry guests, innkeepers created large casseroles that could simmer for hours over low fires. The combination of beans, sausages, and smoky bacon proved so popular that it became a staple throughout the Black Dragon territories. Many locals still claim that no traveller truly knows Grimfen until they’ve enjoyed a bowl beside a crackling hearth on a rainy evening. β«π
