Ingredients
The Chilli
- 750g beef mince
- 1 large onion diced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 red chillies finely chopped
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 2 tins chopped tomatoes
- 1 tin kidney beans drained
- 1 beef stock cube
- 500ml water
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Emberpeak Spice Blend
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- Β½ tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- Β½ tsp black pepper
Method
Step 1 β Brown the Beef
Heat a large pot over medium-high heat.
Brown the mince thoroughly.
Remove excess fat if required.
Step 2 β Build the Base
Add onion, garlic, and chillies.
Cook for 5 minutes until softened.
Stir in tomato puree and cook for another minute.
Step 3 β Add the Fire
Add all spices and stir well.
Cook for 30 seconds to release the flavours.
Step 4 β Simmer the Hoard
Add tomatoes, kidney beans, stock, water, and Worcestershire sauce.
Bring to a gentle boil.
Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 60β75 minutes.
Stir occasionally.
Step 5 β Serve
