  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Fire Dragon Glaze

  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp butter

Method

Step 1 – Prepare the Wings

Pat the chicken wings dry using kitchen paper.

Place in a large bowl and toss with baking powder, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika until evenly coated.

Step 2 – Bake Until Crispy

Preheat oven to 220°C (200°C fan).

Place the wings on a wire rack over a baking tray.

Bake for 40–45 minutes, turning halfway through cooking.

Step 3 – Forge the Glaze

While the wings cook, place the honey, hot sauce, sriracha, garlic, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and butter into a saucepan.

Heat gently until combined and simmer for 2–3 minutes.

Step 4 – Coat the Wings

Transfer the cooked wings to a large bowl.

Pour over the Fire Dragon Glaze and toss until evenly coated.

Step 5 – Serve

Serve immediately with ranch dip, blue cheese sauce, or a cold drink from the tavern cellar.

🐉 Dragon’s Tip

For extra crispy wings, leave them uncovered in the fridge for several hours before baking.

🐉 Adventurer’s Notes

🔥 Increase the Heat

Add finely diced bird’s eye chillies or extra cayenne pepper for an even fiercer kick.

🍯 Sweet Hoard Variation

Double the honey and reduce the hot sauce for a sweeter tavern-friendly version.

🏕️ Campfire Method

Cook over charcoal and brush with glaze during the final few minutes for authentic dragon-fire flavour.

🍗 Ranger’s Feast

Use boneless chicken thighs instead of wings and serve over rice for a hearty meal.

🧀 Tavern Upgrade

Sprinkle with grated mature cheddar and place under the grill for 2 minutes before serving.

📜 Lore of the Hoard

Among the Fire Dragons of Emberpeak, wings are traditionally served before a hunt. The hotter the glaze, the greater the honour bestowed upon the hunters. Legends tell of a champion who consumed fifty Fire Dragon Wings before slaying a rogue wyvern and earning a seat at the clan’s feast table.
