Prep Time: 15 Minutes

Chilling Time: 2 Hours

Makes: 8 Glasses


Ingredients

  • 750ml red wine
  • 100ml brandy
  • 250ml orange juice
  • 50ml fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp caster sugar
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 150g strawberries, halved
  • 100g blueberries
  • Ice cubes

To Finish

  • 250ml lemonade or sparkling water
  • Fresh mint sprigs

Method

  1. Pour the red wine, brandy, orange juice, lemon juice and caster sugar into a large pitcher.
  2. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Add the sliced orange, lemon, strawberries and blueberries.
  4. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow the flavours to develop.
  5. Just before serving, add plenty of ice and top with lemonade or sparkling water.
  6. Garnish with fresh mint and serve in large glasses.

Dragon Chef’s Tip

Prepare the sangria the night before serving. Allowing the fruit to infuse overnight creates a richer, deeper flavour.
