Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Chilling Time: 2 Hours
Makes: 8 Glasses
Ingredients
- 750ml red wine
- 100ml brandy
- 250ml orange juice
- 50ml fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp caster sugar
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 150g strawberries, halved
- 100g blueberries
- Ice cubes
To Finish
- 250ml lemonade or sparkling water
- Fresh mint sprigs
Method
- Pour the red wine, brandy, orange juice, lemon juice and caster sugar into a large pitcher.
- Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
- Add the sliced orange, lemon, strawberries and blueberries.
- Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow the flavours to develop.
- Just before serving, add plenty of ice and top with lemonade or sparkling water.
- Garnish with fresh mint and serve in large glasses.
Dragon Chef’s Tip
Prepare the sangria the night before serving. Allowing the fruit to infuse overnight creates a richer, deeper flavour.
