Makes: 1 Mug


Ingredients

  • 250ml cloudy apple juice
  • 50ml whisky
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 whole cloves
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg

Garnish

  • Apple slices
  • Cinnamon stick
  • Star anise (optional)

Method

  1. Pour the apple juice into a small saucepan.
  2. Add the cinnamon stick, cloves and nutmeg.
  3. Heat gently for 8–10 minutes without allowing the mixture to boil.
  4. Remove from the heat and stir in the honey until dissolved.
  5. Add the whisky and stir gently.
  6. Strain into a heatproof mug and garnish with fresh apple slices, a cinnamon stick and star anise if desired.

Dragon Chef’s Tip

For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the whisky and replace it with an extra splash of apple juice or a little ginger ale.
